Support
One person builds YardScout, and that person answers the email. There is no ticket system and no bot.
What to include
It is the difference between one reply and four:
- The app version, at the bottom of Settings
- Your phone and OS version
- What you expected, and what happened instead
- A screenshot, if there is anything to see
Common questions
Do I need an account?
Not for most of it. Mapping, the calendar, the calculators, mowing and treatment logs and the shopping list all work with no account. Scanning a photo and backing up your records need one, because both run through a server that has to know whose request it is.
Where is my data?
On your phone. It is backed up only if you sign in, and only to your own account. The privacy policy sets out exactly what leaves the device and when.
How do I delete everything?
Full instructions here, including what to do if you have already uninstalled the app or cannot sign in.
My lawn says it is not graded yet
That is deliberate. Until the app has seen a scan or a logged treatment it has no evidence about your lawn, and a letter grade based on nothing is a guess presented as a measurement. Scan your lawn or log a treatment and the score starts meaning something.
A recommendation looks wrong for my yard
Tell me, and say which zone and what the app suggested. Advice is built from your grass species, your soil and your location, so a wrong answer usually means one of those three is wrong, and that is worth finding.
Something crashed
There is no crash reporter in the build, which means nothing is sent automatically and I genuinely will not know unless you tell me. Email what you were doing at the time.
