The lawn score

A grade for your lawn that can tell you to do nothing.

Every lawn score goes up when you buy something. That is not a measurement, it is a sales funnel wearing a letter grade.

Skip a treatment your lawn never needed and this one does not move. Where the result would be visible, it checks your scans instead of docking you. When it has not seen your lawn in a while it caps the grade rather than inflating it, and a brand new lawn is not graded at all, because a letter based on nothing is a guess dressed up as a measurement.

The timing

Timing beats effort. It is not close.

Crabgrass pre-emergent works in a window that opens when soil temperature crosses a threshold, not when a calendar says spring. Two weeks late is a wasted bag and a summer of crabgrass.

Growing degree days, frost dates, rainfall and a real water balance decide what is due. The plan shifts with your ground, and a window you have missed goes grey rather than shouting at you about it.

The arithmetic

A lab report is not a plan.

Enter a soil test and get pounds of lime for this zone, split into passes, spaced months apart, because more than fifty pounds per thousand square feet at once just crusts on the surface.

Overseeding names the species to buy, per zone. The shopping list knows your square footage and what you already put down. Cart check reads what is in your trolley and tells you what is wrong with it before you pay.

It is not quietly selling you either.

Most lawn and garden apps do three things. This one does none of them, and that is worth saying plainly rather than burying in a policy.

Nobody is watchingThere is no tracking code in the app. Not switched off, not there at all. Nothing counts what you tap or where you go.
Nothing is soldNo ads, no advertising business behind it, and nobody has ever been paid for information about your yard.
It stays on your phoneYour records live on the device. Sign in only if you want a backup, and delete the lot whenever you feel like it.

Your lawn is already telling you what it needs.

Quite possibly the greatest app humankind has produced. For lawns. Specifically for lawns.
